Toyota Australia's newest urban utility vehicle lived up to its name by creating a "Rukus" at Australian Fashion Week.
Demonstrating the flexibility of the edgy new Rukus, leading fashion designers Kirrily Johnston and Fernando Frisoni projected their latest catwalk inspirations into stunning wraps for the car.
Kirrily captured a raw, tribal mood for her Rukus with stripes and triangular geometric prints reminiscent of Africa.
Brazilian-born Fernando departed from his funky street menswear to wrap his Rukus in a vibrant feminine print that resembled cotton candy.
The Johnston and Frisoni fashion cars were unveiled after the designers presented their "Spring Summer 10" collections on the Australian Fashion Week catwalk.
The "fashion with passion" cars were joined by a fleet of Toyota Rukus models that ferried guests in chauffeur-driven style to the designers' exclusive party at North Bondi Italian Food, a popular eatery closed to the public for the night.
High-profile party-goers included Lara Bingle, Olympian Michael Klim, Underbelly the Golden Mile star Firass Dirani, actor Alex Dimitriadis, former Prime Minister Paul Keating's daughter Katherine and fashion icon Dion Lee.
Guests danced to sets by DJs Stereogamous, the duo featuring Paul Mac and Jonny Seymour, and Annie Conley.
The eye-catching Rukus is now on display at selected Toyota dealers and officially goes on sale from June 1.
As the two designer cars indicate, many owners will customise their new Rukus - limited only by their imagination and what's legal.
